Miles Davis – Cookin’ | April 1st 2019
This is really a re-release of the 1956 Miles Davis album “Cookin’”. On this record you can hear Miles Davis as the main band member of the Miles Davis Quintet. It is the first official album release of what Miles Davis himself called The First Grand Quintet. Because the musicians who can be heard on this album had to pay for the expenses of the studio where they recorded the album themselves, most songs on this album are practically live versions. Cookin’ was the first in a series of four albums. The name of the album derived from a sentence that Miles Davis said, being “…that’s what we did – came in and cooked”. This album was originally released in 1987 on CD, and got the remaster treatment not that long after, also for a CD release, in 2006 to be precise. On the record you can hear a cover of the song My Funny Valentine, but also songs like Tune Up/When Lights are Low, and Blues by Five.
David Guetta – Multiple records | April 5th 2019
This month there are going to be three vinyl album releases by David Guetta which have already been released some years ago; the following three albums will get a re-release on vinyl: One Love, Nothing but the Beat, and Listen. At least two out of these three albums have vinyl discs which are colored, which is always a great must-have for vinyl collectors. The first record, One Love, meant the breakthrough into the worldwide dance scene for David Guetta, and it has singles like When Love Takes Over, on which ex Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland sang. You can also hear Memories on this record, which was a collaboration between DJ David Guetta, and rapper and hip-hop artist Kid Cudi. The second record, Nothing but the Beat, also has a great array of hits on it, e.g. the song Titanium feat. Australian singer Sia, but also Where Them Girls At feat. Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj. On the third vinyl album, Listen, you can hear a whole base of well-known artist, e.g. Sia, Nicki Minaj, and John Legend, but also Bebe Raxha, Afrojack, and many more. In short, these three separately available albums are full of modern-day hits, because David Guetta is a hit machine that never misses the mark, and these three albums show what he is really made of.
Elton John – Legendary Covers ‘69/’70 | April 5th 2019
This album was released in 1998, about 20 years ago, but now we get the remastered version on vinyl of the eccentric Sir Elton John. Do not expect an ultimate collection of Eton John songs, but a rich album full of covers sung by Elton John. Important to say is that these songs are all recorded at the beginning of Elton John’s career. On the record you can find songs like: United We Stand, Love of the Common People, and Natural Sinner, but also a classic going by the name Signed, Sealed, Delivered. This is an album that might not appeal to everybody, but for fans of Elton John this album is a must-have covering the younger years of Elton John’s career. A great vinyl album to make your collection complete, especially when the biopic about Elton John’s life is on its way in May 2019.

Pet Shop Boys – Agenda | April 12th 2019
The latest record of the Pet Shop Boys is as great criticism about the world we live in today, and especially the social and political climate. This vinyl record has great lyrics on nice, and very contagious sounds. With this record the Pet Shop Boys duo, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, shake off their frustrations about modern-day society. The lyrics are like only Neil Tennant can write them, e.g. “Intelligent people have had their say, It’s time for the foolish to show the way, let’s leave the world a merry dance, Let’s give stupidity a chance.” We all think it, but the Pet Shop Boys say it. By the way, Agenda is not a full album, but an EP with 4 songs on it. On the record you can find the following four songs: Give Stupidity a Chance, On Social Media, What are we going to Do About the Rich, and The Forgotten Child. The duo will also release a new full record, but that will be in the Fall of this year.
